If you are missing the thrill of the track since Utah’s racing season wound down, there’s still a chance to see some of the state’s best drivers compete in Las Vegas.

The Riskon360! Open Wheel Showdown takes place December 1st & 2nd. It will be run on the 3/8-mile Bullring asphalt oval at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway complex. Utah Winged Sprint Car drivers Anthony Quintana (#02), Jarrett Burdett (#36J), Monty Bergener (#12B), Natalie Waters (#1), and Ryan Burdett (#36) are ready to race! They will join many of the nation’s best, driving some of the nation’s most furious cars, and vying for a record $50,000 winner’s purse.

Midgets and Speed Tour Supermodifieds are also part of the showdown, with winners’ purses of $10,000 and $5000, respectively. Bryan Shafer’s BSR Racing, based in St. George, will run multiple Supermodifieds, in addition to a Winged Sprint Car. Most will be operated by out-of-state drivers, although Bryan will drive one himself. Dave Adamson, also from St. George, will be another Supermodified competitor.

Schedule & Tickets

  • Thursday, Nov 30th: Winged Sprint practice from 2:00 to 8:00 PM.

Formula One is not the only open-wheel game in Las Vegas. Unlimited Winged Sprint Cars put down drag-race speeds while almost constantly turning, so are really fun to watch. Reasonably-priced tickets for the Open Wheel Showdown are on sale though the Las Vegas Motor Speedway ticket office and online. See www.LVMS.com and the Open Wheel Showdown website at www.OpenWheelShowdown.com for details.
